1. Introduce yourself. Who are you, where are you from and what do you do in life.

My name is Amy Kickz. I am from Woodstock Ontario, Canada.

2. How you met H.E.R.? How did you find Hip-Hop, or how did Hip-Hop find you? Share some memories about that? When and why did you decide to make music yourself?

I always wanted to make a Hip-Hop record. Since I was in my late teens I was in a relationship for 12 years, that was unhealthy and never pursued my creative outlets. I have 4 children, recently seperated, so I am achieving my goals.

3. What do you want to say with your music? What is your message? Can you live from your music already? What are your future goals?

I want to also be a voice for young girls, who turn to stripping or prostituting, as a means of making money. WE ARE WORTH MORE! Future goals is to finish my MOTHERLOAD LP, releasing early 2013 and will start touring Canada in support of it.

1. Introduce yourself. Who are you, where are you from and what do you do in life.

Peace! I’m Miranda Writes, I’m 18, and I’m an up and coming emcee from Central Jersey. Right now I’ve been working to make a positive difference in the world of Hip Hop today. It’s time we shed truth and light. Hip Hop goes beyond the entertainment factor, it is a culture. With that being said, I do my best to represent. Knowledge is Power!

2. How you met H.E.R.? How did you find Hip-Hop, or how did Hip-Hop find you? Share some memories about that? When and why did you decide to make music yourself?

Hmm, How did I Find Hip Hop? Well to start, my parents have always been huge Hip Hop lovers. I was practically raised listening to it. I’ve always loved everything about Hip Hop. The lyrics, the beat, the art, the energy, creativity exc. Hip Hop is a genre that speaks. It holds power that allows a message to be heard in a different and great way. I’ve always enjoyed writing, but it became my “go to” outlet of expression my sophomore year of high school. I started writing a lot, everyday actually. I noticed I was writing a lot, but nothing was being heard. I decided hey, why don’t I try flipping this over a beat? Tried it.. Loved it. Shortly after that, I asked for a Mic. Since then, consider it history. Now I’m Miranda Writes the Emcee!

3. What do you want to say with your music? What is your message? Can you live from your music already? What are your future goals?

I always want my music to speak for itself. I love music, I feel music. I want my fans to be able to relate to what I’m saying. Anything that comes to my mind, I usually put it on paper. I am a strong believer in speaking the truth. Real Recognize Real, that’s what I am trying to teach. My movement basically sums up my mission and message. I work under my own banner by the name of “LPD Entertainment”. (Light Prevails Dark) I want to inspire anyone with a dream because all things are possible. Right now I am working independently. I am looking for an opportunity where I can prosper and grow. I want to take my music to the next level, my goal is to reach the masses.

4. In your opinion, what is the key to success?

In order to be successful you must work hard and remain motivated. No matter the circumstances, you keep pushing. That’s how you get better, that’s how you reach people, that’s how you get out there! Networking and building is all part of the process. Most importantly, LOVE what you do!

5. Your shout-out to the other Ladies living Music.

Much love and respect to every female that is holding it down for the Hip Hop culture. The females in Hip Hop need to unite and get together! Peace, Love, and Light.

HOW I MET HER… KLASSY (INTERVIEW)

Klassy

1. Introduce yourself. Who are you, where are you from and what do you do in life.

My names Graciela Moreno and I’m also known as Klassy. I was born in the Philippines, on Dec. 13 1996 and I was raised in Los Angeles, California. I’m on my second year as a student currently attending VAPA HS.

2. How you met H.E.R.? How did you find Hip-Hop, or how did Hip-Hop find you? Share some memories about that? When and why did you decide to make music yourself?

I had cousins that really loved Hip Hop. They’d always bump Big L, Souls of Mischief, Wu Tang, and I remembered them always rapping along to the lyrics. Basically, during that time, I got myself into lots of trouble, and I soon came to realize I needed a way to keep myself off the streets. My friend Rolondo, who I later found out he was emcee, took me to my first studio; JUiCE – a non-profit weekly hip hop arts program and that’s where it all started. I recorded my first couple tracks there and met so many amazing, talented people. I was hooked, and that’s where I discovered my love for Hip Hop.

3. What do you want to say with your music? What is your message? Can you live from your music already? What are your future goals?

Simply, I only see it as an outlet. It’s way for me to express – a way for me to share my experiences, ideas, and feelings. I love music, why not make it ! The messages in my songs I want people to get, is that you’re not alone, love your life, love yourself, stay positive, and just push forward through the toughest times. I honestly don’t have future goals, I just want to continue making music and if people like, or can relate to it, then..that’s a bonus for me.

4. In your opinion, what is the key to success?

In my opinion, the key to success…is having a focused mind.

If you love what you do, if you have a dream, if you have a goal, don’t let anyone get in the way of it. Just be true to yourself, stay humble, and remember that there’s ALWAYS room for improvement.

5. Your shout out to the other Ladies living Music.

I personally think,  whether you’re a girl or guy doing Hip Hop, we all deserve the same attention…as an MC not because of our sex. Maybe at times, you can say it’s easier or harder for a girl to be in the game, but if she can bring it, if she has that strive and passion for it.. then that’s where it’s at. BUT YES ! Much respect to all the femcees doing their thing!
